Five Spice Duck Stir-Fry

Duck goes fantastically with Asian flavours and in this feast it's cooked with five-spice powder, soy sauce and for a hint of sweetness - a little honey.

Ingredients for  4  Servings

  • 4
    Duck breasts
  • 1½ tsp
    Five-spice powder
  • 1 tsp
    Clear honey
  • 2 tsp
    Dark soy sauce
  • 600g
    Mixed vegetable stir-fry
  • -
    Low calorie cooking spray

Method

  1. Spray a frying pan with low calorie cooking spray and place over a high heat. When it's hot, add the duck, skin side down, reduce the heat to medium and cook for 3 minutes. Turn and cook for 3 minutes (or a little longer if you don't like the duck pink). Drain off any fat in the pan.
  2. Mix the five-spice, honey and soy sauce in a small bowl. Add the mixture to the duck, reduce the heat to low and leave it to bubble away gently for 1 minute, turning the duck breasts over until nicely glazed. Keep warm.
  3. Place a wok or large, deep frying pan over a high heat. When hot, add the stir-fry vegetables and 3 tbsp of water and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until cooked but still crunchy. Season lightly and pile on to plates.
  4. Lift the duck breasts on to a board and slice on the diagonal. Arrange the duck on top of the vegetables and spoon over any of the honey glaze left in the pan.
