Shortbread

Try making these easy, buttery shortbread biscuits for an afternoon activity. This recipe also works with chocolate chips or orange zest added the shortbread dough.

  • 125g
    Unsalted butter, softened
  • 55g
    Caster sugar, plus extra to finish
  • 180g
    Plain flour

Method

Notes

Cut into planks for a traditional shortbread shape, or use your favourite cutter to make rounds or any shape you like. You can even put the dough into a round cake tin, score the top into triangle pieces, like you're cutting a pie, and bake before snapping the shortbread into pieces.
