Ingredients to make 12

  • 200g
    Onions, peeled, halved and thinly sliced
  • 50g
    Gram flour
  • 1 tsp
    Lemon juice
  • 2 tsp
    Ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp
    Coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp
    Fresh green chilli, deseeded and chopped
  • 1 tbsp
    Coriander leaves, chopped
  • ¼ tsp
    Baking powder
  • -
    Salt

    Low calorie cooking spray
  • To Serve

    A pinch of paprika

Method

  1. Place the onions, gram flour, lemon juice, cumin, coriander seeds, green chilli, chopped coriander and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and add a few tablespoons of water to form a thick batter that coats the oinion. Leave to rest for 15 minutes and then, using your fingers, mix again to combine thoroughly.
  2. Preheat the oven to 220°C/Fan 200°C/Gas 7.
  3. Line a baking tray with baking parchment and using your fingers or a dessert spoon, drop small mounds of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet to give you 12 balls.
  4. Spray with low calorie cooking spray and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden. Remove from the oven and serve immeadiately sprinkled with the paprika.
